Chiefs Rookie Kareem Hunt’s “Tremendous” Debut

Chiefs Rookie Kareem Hunt shines in NFL debut

After a heart-sinking start, Kansas City Chiefs running back, Kareem Hunt was impressive in his NFL debut Thursday night against the New England Patriots.  Hunt fumbled on his first professional carry and Hunt owners everywhere felt their hearts sink into their stomachs.  No one could have anticipated what was yet to come for the first-year pro, well, except for Chiefs Head Coach, Andy Reid.

Reid called Hunt’s debut, “tremendous” and prior to Thursday night, Reid stated that Hunt would receive the full workload in the Chiefs backfield.  Hunt ripped off 148 yards on 17 carries while adding five receptions totaling 98 yards and two touchdowns.  The rookie running back looked explosive and appeared to be everything I thought he could be in Week 1.  On “The Flex!” fantasy football podcast, I made a proclamation back in August (prior to the Spencer Ware injury) that Hunt will be the best rookie running back for fantasy in 2017.  That prediction is looking promising at the moment but there is a lot of football to be played.

It now appears that Kansas City has two dynamic playmakers on their offense with Hunt and Tyreek Hill.  There is something special brewing in Kansas City.
